LuvBug - the brand new UK dance collective set to dominate the charts

House | Monday 11th August 2014 |

What if I told you that Marvin Humes - of JLS fame - had started up a house producer project? It sounds unlikely, but the ex-boyband member has teamed up with grammy nominated producer JKAY and hot Manchester-based remixer The White N3rd to form LuvBug, a new UK dance contingency who will soon be everywhere.

In fact, Marvin has been practising scratching and mixing on decks since the age of 15, and has been a long-time fan of the 90s house sound and rave scene. It was this mutual love that helped him bond with producer JKAY, who he met working on early JLS material. The White N3rd was introduced to Marvin through Ali Tennant, a succesful songwriter. The three gelled immediately and have now been playing in the UK club scene for about a year.

However, Marvin only announced the project via Twitter this July, and after building their profile through a series of remixes, mixtapes and playlists, LuvBug are finally releasing their debut single, "Resonance" featuring Talay Riley, on the 5th October. It's an anthemic, summery, vocal-led house track which has already hit #7 on the Hype Machine Chart, and has been remixed to critical acclaim by man of the moment MNEK and Friend Within.

The release comes after what is set to be a busy summer for the group, who have secured a residency at the iconic Café Mambo in Ibiza, as well as several nights at infamous superclub Pacha and many more UK dates.

Having spent the past year in the studio with the group, Marvin has confirmed that they have "probably got about 40 songs finished", and "we just need to whittle down the list for an album" - with all this new music waiting to be released, an extremely likeable sound and combined years of experience in the music industry, its fairly certain we'll be hearing a lot more from LuvBug!
