US Skier saves Puppies in Sochi

Monday 17th February 2014 | Maggie Roby

An Olympic skier from the United States has made news for more than just his athletic ability. When he is not competing, freeskier Gus Kenworthy has been spending his time in Sochi saving stray puppies.

In preparation for the Winter Olympics, the Russian government had given the order to exterminate the stray dogs of Sochi in order to make way for the Olympic games.

Kenworthy has posted some very cute pictures of Sochi puppies on twitter. He has tweeted, “Also, for the people wondering, I've lined up kennels 4 the pups & made vaccination appointments. Doing all I can to bring them home w/ me!’

In addition to being a very attractive puppy rescuer, Kenworthy has also won a silver medal in Men’s Freestyle Skiing. That’s what we would call a well-rounded man!
