Summer Wanderlust: 5 best crowd-free and beautiful beach holidays

Other | Friday 7th February 2014 | Osh

As the rain in London continues to pour down, many people are dreaming about their long awaited summer holidays. If you’re going to spend your hard earned money on a summer holiday, you’re surely going to want to have the best experience possible. If you want to relax on a beautiful beach, take life easy, and avoid all the other tourists, check out our list for the best untouched beaches for you to explore.

Our first recommendation is Bordeira Beach in Portugal. Sitting on the Riberiera de Bordeira. This beach features 3 kilometers of uninterrupted sand. It’s a great place for surfing, exploring, and relaxing too. Spend a day on the cerulean blue waters and then head to the fresh fish grills overlooking the gorgeous ocean and cliff views.

Next on the list is Bolonia Beach in Costa del Luz, Spain. This golden sand beach is surrounded by ancient roman ruins and features a great deal of adventure activities like wind and kite surfing.  Relax in the fine sand and crack open a cold beer from one of the beach side shacks. For our more adventurous readers, be sure to check out the nudist area of the beach.

For those willing to travel a little bit further off the beaten path, check out Dugi Otok Island, part of Croatia. This small picturesque island is often called an oasis for travellers. This island is located one hour by ferry from the mainland; it’s an ideal place to hideaway and enjoy the clear blue ocean and beautiful landscape of the island.

For those interested in a holiday away from Europe, check out Manzil Tmim Beach in Tunisia. This lesser known beach features a great mix of both a resort and hideaway experience and features some of the clearest and most azure waters in the world. Unlike the overcrowded beaches of Sousse and Hammamet, Manzil Tmim is truly a great place to get away from it all.

For those who want to travel even further, why not check out the Kooh Mook Island of Thailand. With its sugary white sand beaches and caves, it is a perfect place to explore and go diving. Just a 15 minute ferry ride from the larger surrounding islands, it’s a great place to run away to for an unforgettable time.

If you’re looking for a truly unique summer holiday, away from the crowds and the overpriced resorts, check out these 5 suggestions. Make your 2014 summer holiday your most unforgettable holiday yet. Go off the beaten path, explore, relax and make some great memories all while getting an amazing tan.
