January is the time of the detox but we thought we'd make that a little more interesting. Courtesy of our friends over at La Fee Absinthe, here is a cocktail recipe that will add a bit of sparkly to your detox!
La Fée Absinthe Blanche:
La Fée Absinthe Blanche is distilled in France and based on a traditional 19th century recipe. It is a clear, lighter style of the famous green fairy and is therefore incredibly versatile; enjoyed in many classic and contemporary cocktails, or simply mixed with iced water. La Fée distil a range of six different French & Swiss Absinthes which are available from Amazon.co.uk & TheDrinkShop.com.
The Blanche Refresher is a wicked twist on the absinthe sour, uses Velvet Falernum (a sweet Caribbean mixer) and fresh lemon juice to create a delicious, lively, wake-up call of a cocktail - perfect for the onset of Spring. Top it with a little green Chartreuse to round the experience...
Ingredients:
25ml La Fée Absinthe Blanche
58% abv
25ml Velvet Falernum (substitute for simple syrup/sugar syrup)
25ml Lemon Juice 15ml Green Chartreuse. (optional)
Shake all ingredients except the Chartreuse, strain over crushed ice in a wine glass, lace with Chartreuse and garnish with lemon peel. Enjoy!
