In case you didn't notice, Christmas is right around the corner. So if you still somehow haven't gotten your shopping done, you're probably stressing out pretty heavy right now. But don't worry, because all hope is not lost. There is still enough time left for you to cover your bases and not only that, but we're here to help.
Given our love of all things music we decided that it was prudent to put together a gift guide for all of you with a music lover on your shopping list. We're confident that at least one of these five gifts we're about to run down will do the job. Additionally, a few of them are versatile enough to extend to folks on your list that just might be looking for something music related, such as a new pair of headphones (though that's a bit more obvious). Now let's get to it!
Spotify Gift Card
This is probably the easiest gift you could get for the music lover on your list. It's also one of the most versatile because you don't have to think of which genre someone prefers or if they may already have the item. More and more people are using Spotify than ever which means you should know at least one person who could benefit from a gift card. If not, consider snagging one as a back-up present—you know, just in case.
Concert Poster
If you know someone who loves going to shows but can't ever seem to afford a poster—or is maybe just obsessed with them—you can't go wrong with one of these. Over at Ames Bros they have a bunch of different concert posters, from the Pixies to the Roots to Eddie Vedder. And they're available and ready to be thrown in a frame for hanging on someone's wall. Their selection is admittedly more limited to rock and hip-hop, though, so you may want to wait until U.K. print shop the Octopus Gallery opens back up to see what they have for purchase.
USB Turntable
With vinyl sales at an all-time high—seriously, just read this BBC piece—chances are that you know someone that started collecting/purchasing LPs, 45s, and/or 7"s this year. And if that's the case, you would be doing them a pretty nice favor by hipping them to one of these USB turntables. According to mysmartbuy.com, you just have to hook up the player to a laptop or desktop and then the music will be ripped directly to the hard-drive. That means you won't have to worry about the music only being available when a turntable is nearby.
Morrissey's Autobiography
It doesn't matter which genre the music lover on your list prefers the most, because he or she is definitely at least somewhat acquainted with Morrissey. He's just one of those pop culture figures that impossible to escape, whether it's because of his time in the Smiths, his solo work, or simply his outspoken ways. With that in mind, you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who wouldn't want to read his newly released "Autobiography." It's brimming with that trademark Morrissey sass and vitriol, which gets thrown at former bandmates, label owners, and, yes, even fans.
New Year's Eve Show Tickets
As you might have noticed in our events section there are a TON of options available for those of you wanting to see a show on the night of New Year's Eve. There are concerts for the jazz heads out there, the reggae enthusiasts, and seemingly everyone in between. Picking which one you will want to buy tickets for obviously depends on the recipients taste, but you cannot go wrong with Dollop NYE. The lineup is absolutely on-point and features the likes of Oneman, Jackmaster, and Joy Orbison.
