Following in the footsteps of Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, who was also a Cavalli girl, Ciara is the latest hip-hop queen to turn high fashion star, fronting the ad campaign for the A/W 15 Cavalli collection. According to Cavalli, Ciara “embodies beauty with a hint of wildness”, and we have to say, the photographs by Francesco Carrozzini are stunning.
Ciara told Style.com how the collaboration came about, “I had a marvellous night dancing with Mr Cavalli last fall in Dubai, and now my dream of being in one of their campaigns has come true…I grew up truly admiring the beautiful collections and dreaming of wearing them. I am excited that also now my friend Peter Dundas will be at the creative helm, and I look forward to his creations.”
This isn’t her first time working in the fashion world – back in 2009 she was a muse for Ricardo Tisci, and she worked with Vogue Italia’s Franca Sozzani on the cover of her new album Jackie. And from the looks of this campaign, her fashion reign is only just starting.
