Lewis Del Mar were back in London, this time at The Lexington, for another sold-out show.
New York duo Max Harwood and Danny Miller, aka Lewis Del Mar only started making waves in the summer of last year when they unleashed their single ‘Loud(y)’ on the world, but they’ve already amassed a host of critical acclaim and a loyal fan base.
With a sold-out debut show at The Waiting Room back at the beginning of 2016, a debut EP, a slot at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton and another sold-out London show last month, this time at The Lexington, Lewis Del Mar have come long way in just a matter of weeks - the size and energy of the crowd at The Lexington gig proving just how popular they are.
Playing for a solid hour, the band gave us all the tracks from their EP, plus some completely unheard material from their forthcoming debut album, moving from downtempo to rockier numbers with ease. ‘Loud(y)’, the final song of the night, drew the biggest response from the crowd, cheering from the opening notes and enthusiastically singing back. The band couldn’t even do an encore, despite hearty requests, because they genuinely didn’t have any more music left; a reminder of how new on the scene they really are.
Lewis Del Mar are already an accomplished live outfit – they really bring an extra level of energy into their acoustic/electronic sound when you see and hear them in the flesh. They’ll be back on these shores for Reading & Leeds, so make time to catch their sets because these guys are going to be huge.
