Egg LDN Birthday Weekend: 3 Parties, 2 Nights & Insane Live Shows

House | Tuesday 28th March 2017 | Nicky

As King's Cross continues its transformation into one of the capital's most desirable districts, Egg London celebrates another year.

Going through an on-going evolution of its own, which has seen the garden transformed into a centre-piece main room complete with overhanging balcony, 2017's birthday celebration comes in three parts across the weekend of the 5th and 6th of May.

Friday May 5th opens the Egg London’s Birthday Weekend Part 1 with Erick Morillo All Night Long,  welcoming back the Subliminal Records boss and Strictly Rhythm legend, Erick Morillo. Taking charge for the entire duration of the club's opening, the man behind such acts as Ministers De La Funk, The Dronez, alongside Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero and Jose Nunez, and Li’l Mo Ying Yang, will no doubt display the kind of party starting spirit behind the decks that has kept him at the top of the game for over twenty years.

Saturday 6th hosts 2 Birthday events with the daytime being fuelled by the wildly hedonistic Gold Diggers gathering going straight into the main event. Expect live and artiste performances, DJs and general chit chat and sashay from disco across the years to house, Egg’s London’s diverse and hedonistic underground musical celebration continues apace.

Looking to another defining producer and DJ for the main event - Egg London’s Birthday Weekend Part II welcomes the legendary techno trend setter, Green Velvet, also known as Cajmere, Chicago's very own Curtis Jones. With his trademark bright green mohawk and wraparound shades, darkly humorous tracks such as 'Flash', 'Answering Machine', 'La La Land' and 'Bigger Than Prince' have proven his unmatched talents as a both a producer and lyricist.

Joining him in the Main Room is Enrico Sangiuliano, part of the seemingly unstoppable Drumcode family and a representative of Italy's ever growing techno community. Added to this is the equally influential Daniel Miller, founder of Mute Records. Having returned to DJing after an invite to perform with Sandwell District at Berghain, expect a lesson in techno from the man who laid its foundations.  As well as pillar of the city's house and techno community Tobi Neumann, Italian duo Margot, and  Jay Shepheard.

A huge part of the Egg London Birthday Weekend celebrations are the Resident DJs Kyle E, Ireen Amnes and The Willers Brothers. Hugely enthusiastic talents, the trio regularly spin in Berlin and Ibiza, as their recent productions are scoring them even wider dance floor success, and watch out for their releases Egg Ldn’s new What Came First label.

Transitioning from daytime to night time, Gold Diggers in The Loft welcomes DJ/Producers, The Nextmen playing an Exclusive ‘disco’ set fuelled by their super selection of mash-up edits, bootlegs, specials and remixes. Perennial festival faves built on their party podcasts, DJ sets and live shows, and get ready for the get down.

The Birthday - it's all about the right music, right people, right attitude and those with enough stamina can party long past sunrise on Friday 5th - Saturday 6th May.

Tickets for Birthday Part I, Gold Diggers & Birthday Part II are available now, so what are you waiting for!
