Chart NEWS! Dizzee rascal, Tinie Tempah, Example, Ne-Yo, Cheryl Cole and Mary J Blige are only a handful of the artists who have decided to dive into the pool of insane talent that is Mr. Calvin Harris; we can now add Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine to the list. Harris and Welch have collaborated for the second time to secure a second number one with their latest effort ‘’Sweet Nothing”. The song follows the success of Calvin Harris’ previous remix of the Florence + the Machine original song “spectrum”. “Sweet Nothing” offers listeners a sound that we’ve grown accustomed to hearing from Calvin. Solid 4/4 electro drum patterns, edgy bass and disrespectful synths; all culminating into a famous Calvin Harris’ DROP! The song is crowned by the harrowing tones of Florence Welch and will be featured on Calvin Harris’s forthcoming album “18 months”. “Sweet nothing” has knocked the Swedish House Mafia track, “Don’t You Worry Child”, off the top spot. The Swedish electronic dance music trio, consisting of three house disc jockeys and producers, Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso, released "Don't You Worry Child" as the sixth and final single to be released by the group before their hiatus.

Recent rises in the charts have also come at the expense of Adele’s Bond themed track, Skyfall, which missed the number 1 spot and is sitting pretty at number 5. The track was co-written by Adele, Joel Pott and producer Paul Epworth, and features orchestration by J. A. C. Redford. Skyfall failed to achieve the elusive number one position for a Bond themed song but word on road is that congratulations are still in order! Unconfirmed reports suggest that Adele has given birth to a baby boy! Congrats to her from all of us at the GL network. In other chart news, the infectious “Gangnam Style” by PSY is a non-mover at number 3, along with fellow non-mover Rihanna, who maintained her position in the charts with her newest track “Diamonds”. Fallers in the UK top 10 charts, consist of Connor Maynard and Flo-Rida who are both down 1 place to positions 9 and 10 respectively. Success stories include four-piece British band Lawson with “Standing In The Dark” who burst fresh into the charts at number 6. Taylor Swift goes up 5 places to number 7 and Maroon 5 secure number 8 position after going up 10 places.
