FaltyDL - Blueberry Records Finally Revealed
Thursday 25th July 2013 | Beth
Brooklyn producer, FaltyDL (aka Drew Lustman) has released music on a number of different labels, from Planet Mu to Swamp81 to Ninja Tune and is now stamping his own imprint onto the music scene.
In an interview with Spin, Lustman stated that he was at a point where people sent unreleased tunes every week, and if he could help good music get exposure, then he felt he needed to do so. After discovering Dirty Tapes’ Brrd in a “discreet small corner of the Internet”, Lustman was pushed further towards his own label venture.
Blueberry Records, named after the blueberry hill his grandma owned, will be launched this September, with newcomer Brrd’s Towers/Anointing EP set to be the first release. A second EP release from Brrd will follow in October, featuring two tracks of “fucking tough” dancehall.
Lustman has also revealed that the label has futher EPs in store from Luke Vilbery, Todd Osborn and Dego.
