Drumcode up to their usual trickery at the Dock

House | Tuesday 30th October 2018 | Arren

It’s Halloween weekend and we’re techno raving with zombies. Of course it’s the Drumcode techno smasher.

For techno fans everywhere the Drumcode Halloween party in London is one of the biggest dates to hit the calendar. 2018 saw no change, as once again the esteemed techno imprint hit at Tobbaco Docks

Some of the best names techno can offer, from Drumcode and beyond, and hordes of ravers pumped with high spirits and a craving to party packed the sold out venue pretty early on. Not surprising as early sets came from Soma figureheads Slam and Drumcode affilants, Boxia and Layton Giordani. And things only got better from there.

The Great Gallery was suitably decorated for another haunting day of Drumcode's sounds, and techno greats Boxia and Bart Skils hammered it before handing over to Adam Beyer who performed an extended set of 5 hours. We were gutted that Ida Engberg couldn't make it, she was due to perform but sadly one of her and Adam's children was ill.

Across the concourse in the Gallery more Drumcode talents were rinsing things out. Marco Faraone smashed it, laying down a sick mix of raw techno cuts. He’s the man behind Drumcode’s latest EP release and has a serious discography. He was followed by the legend, Nicole Moudaber who smashed the packed room with a killer selection, though we hardly expected anything less. Despite the insane opening track from Fitzpatrick, no trip to Tobacco Dock is complete without the Car Park and techno’s DJ of the moment was just starting the final set of the day, Charlotte De Witte.

She went in, and went in hard. Acid bleeps, raw basslines and high energy kept the room packed right till the very end as the Belgian DJ made plainly clear why she’s one of the most in demand on the circuit right now. Quality tunes, quality people, another sick Halloween party from Drumcode & LWE. The only thing we want is Beyer to finally get down into that Car Park… Which is totally happening at the Junction 2 Launch this December! - Tickets
