New technology for internet based video
It’s no secret that Kanye West sees himself as a pioneer in all this music, fashion and now even technology. Likening himself to the late Steve Jobs in the past, Ye has taken it upon himself to try something new in the important and skilful niche of producing a great music video.
Ye has released his new video for his single, ‘Black Skinhead’ which he claims is a ‘step towards the possibilities of internet based video.’ Taking to his twitter account, Yeezus himself let fans know that his site was the best place to get the full experience of the video. ‘ATTENTION all sites just posting merely the video version’ and Ye followed this first tweet with ‘if you put a link to my site people will able to chop & screw the video. This is a step towards the possibilities of internet based video.’
If you use the link Kanye provides on his own site then you’ll be able to adjust the speed of the video and you’ll also be able to take still images of the clip… mind-blowing! Though the abilities the interactive and animated video directed by Nick Knight provides are less than jaw-droppingly endearing, it is the first of its kind… I bet Steve Jobs is turning in his grave at the fact he didn’t come up with this such marketing expertise! It’s fair to say that Kanye is pioneering another movement, but will this catch on? One of the last movements Kanye has attempted to bring into fashion is his choice of clothing. Wearing tops that also look like dresses hasn’t fully seemed to gain the impetus that Ye would have wished, but hey, if another is going to have belief in this project, it’s going to be Kanye and his ever-faithful followers.
