Artist of the month: Mura Masa

Mura Masa, aka Alex Crossan, is the British producer making waves in the trap scene. Originally a Guernsey lad, he graduated from punk and hardcore bands to Ableton when he was 16. In 2015 he released his debut EP Someday Somewhere, which rightly set him on the path to greatness.
‘Lovesick Fuck’ rightfully went viral in the UK and USA. Pulling together jazz, trap and moombahton in a minor scale, the track fully realises the uplifting potential of surprising pop music.
This summer, catch Mura Masa playing London’s Field Day and Manchester’s Parklife. The producer’s sunny trap stands to characterise the future of pop if he keeps this up.
