Leon Vynehall and codeine house for autobahn journeys
House track of the week is Leon Vynehall’s ambient yet club-ready ‘Midnight on Rainbow Road (Beat Edit)’, released on vinyl in January along with the original by Vynehall. The original is taken from Gerd Janson’s Musik for Autobahns 2.
When Gerd Janson was asked to compile a collection that started where his last compilation left off, we got Musik for Autobahns 1 in 2012.
It was stark, slow, fuzzy and full of original and previously unreleased cuts by producers at the top of their game. House heavyweights Âme, Tom Trago, Roman Flügel, Move D and Tensnake all weighed in on the effort.
2015’s Musik for Autobahns 2 offers similar, mellow codeine house, created for lonely listening on long journeys. It also features Bicep, Joy Orbison and Lauer.
