Goldie's back with 'Broken Man'

Goldie has made his return with the record 'Broken Man'.
It;s been a while since we had any fresh material from Metalheadz’ main man, but Goldie popped up on music retailers again this week with a track called 'Broken Man'.
It’s reminiscent of his past productions - taking the sound back to the core and focusing more on invoking emotions than trashing clubs. Throughout the record Goldie works a variety of sounds, from mellow guitars riffs and a more relaxed drum beat, whilst the vocals, supplied by Kwabs, adds a sense of spiritualism. His powerful voice lies perfectly atop this song.
On the flip side, there’s a version that’s been reworked by Ivy Lab member, Halogenix. He turns this song from Goldie into a club track, speeding it up slightly and reworking the drum pattern into a more familiar formula.
Speaking to Mistajam, Goldie explained that 'Broken Man' is not aimed to be for the clubs, it’s meant to be an insightful body of music, a record that is thought provoking. This may be the first fresh material from Goldie in a while, but that’s not to say he hasn’t been a busy man. His DJing schedule is as hefty as ever and on top of that his project with the Heritage Orchestra has had a series of shows celebrating his debut album Timeless.
He’s been sitting on this track for four years but now he wants to release it and question the norms in drum & bass production. It proves a point that drum & bass isn’t all about wrecking clubs; you can have a deeper style in terms of your mind, body and soul.
