Icarus show love for the club with their Don’t Cry Wolf EP

Newly signed to FFRR, Icarus – Bristol-based brothers Tom and Ian Griffiths – release their Don’t Cry Wolf EP on June 29th. The pair spent a long time crafting their sound, effort that paid off as their debut EP Steal The Sun caught the attention of the OWSLA label and their track ‘Missing You’ featured as the lead on the SubSoul & Friends EP, and was playlisted on 1Xtra.
Once again their slow and steady approach to making music has paid dividends as their new EP is insanely good. Title track ‘Don’t Cry Wolf’ is a complete club banger that evolves and builds around an infectious vocal hook, whereas ‘Cassia’ dips a toe into the more progressive style of house. The boys then take it back a few years with the rolling bassline and 2step beats on ‘Gold’.
With this EP Icarus have proved that are equally skilled at creating that dancefloor rush as well as more atmospheric soundscapes. Whatever these boys cook up you know it’s going to sound good in a club. We can’t wait to see what they bring us next!
