What if you love music, but hate camping? Festivals for the light sleepers.

Every year festival season overloads our summer life and plans, deciding to go abroad or to get wet staying here. What could be the problem with day drinking, fancy dress, and your favourite music? Camping. As difficult as it is to imagine for the ‘outdoorsie type’ to understand, it’s not easy for everyone to put their best foot forward only to pull out a knee high mud cast. Four options spring to mind.
Hotels and B&B’s
This could be a viable option, if you’re well aware all your friends will take this as their own free shower opportunity and you won’t see any money given back for your overpriced room. Book ASAP but you’ll miss half the fun.
Layers
The more layers you start the camping with the less worry you have when having to take off something covered in who-knows-what. The only problem with this is you could lose half your wardrobe on the way back from the stage.
Camper Van
This is the only thing that is a genuinely good idea for you and your other friends. Quite cheap and you get to sleep with a roof over your head, the only downside however being that you’ll probably be situated with families with children which might not be what you want to see first thing in the morning
Just dealing with it
You’re there for the fun, why not just forget your worries and pretend that hard holey floor is just some new high tech mattress? Or don’t sleep at all? If that fails, watch the festival online and you might even see your friends having a whale of a time without you.
