Daft Punk have broken Spotify streaming records with their new single 'Get Lucky'. The first new single from the French duo in eight years, 'Get Lucky' had the biggest first day of streams globally since the service began.
In the UK and US, 'Get Lucky' was streamed more times than any other track had managed on a single day, out-streaming the previous record holders Macklemore for his song 'Thrift shop' (for the US) and Bastille's 'Pompeii' (for the UK). However, the exact figures of what the record-breaking stream totaled are still unknown.
Daft Punk’s comeback song 'Get Lucky' featuring Pharrell Williams is on course to hit number one this weekend!
This will be the first ever UK number one hit making them part of a small group of French acts, including Serge Gainsbourg, Modjo, Charles Aznavour, Mr Oizo and David Guetta, who have managed to reach the top spot in the Official Singles Chart’s history.
