Scuba live at The Forum

Drum and Bass | Wednesday 24th April 2013 | Osh

Scuba’s reputation as one of the most important new figureheads to emerge in electronic music will be cemented yet further when he brings his outstanding live show to The Forum in Kentish Town on Saturday 27th April. This exclusive showcase will illustrate Scuba’s exceptional ability to blow people away by his superlative talent, as his arsenal of rich synths and melodies is stretched to the max. Joining Scuba on the night will be some of the most talented, forward-thinking artists currently residing in the scene. After huge anticipation these can now be revealed…

JETS is the pairing of Travis ‘Machinedrum’ Stewart and Jimmy Edgar, two of dance music’s most eccentric and distinctive personalities and both celebrated producers in their own right. This collaboration was always on the cards, with the duo being friends for over 12 years. The alignment of their music as one creates something altogether new and yet, at the same time, ultimately familiar. Weaving its way intricately into the multi-textured fabric of sounds is the undeniable presence of Edgar’s electro-funk soul whilst Machinedrum’s idiosyncratic syncopated rhythms and stuttered drum clacks jack and roughen the edges. This project alone is four years in the making, so to say this is special would be a massive understatement.

ManMakeMusic’s George FitzGerald, will also join us on the night, bringing his distinctive flavours to this stellar line-up. With releases on Hotflush, Aus and his own imprint, George’s exceptional productions combine the warmer, melodic sides of house and garage with the more heated, pounding drum patterns of dubstep and techno. With a DJ diary covering the best underground clubs on the planet such as Berghain, Fabric and Space Ibiza, George will display his phenomenal talent that has been causing huge waves in recent months.

Rounding off the bill is South London Ordnance who have been creating major interest as of late via his releases on Hotflush, Well Rounded, 2nd Drop and Audio Culture. ‘Pacific’ was picked by XLR8R as one of the top tracks of 2012 and the same publication named South London Ordnance as their No.4 ‘Best New Act of 2012’. Over the course of his studio efforts, support has come courtesy of Jamie XX, Benji B, Mary Ann Hobbs, Mosca, Claude Vonstroke and Richie Hawtin, a sign of the high esteem this promising young producer holds with the dance music elite.
