Recent dramas with Frank Ocean and Drake aside! Chris Brown debuts ‘Fine China’ off his forthcoming LP ‘X’.
The latest video sees Chris Brown showing off his moves and dancing up a storm in the Michael Jackson inspired video. Reminiscent of MJ’s famous videos ‘You Rock My World’ and ‘Smooth Criminal’, he is seen pulling up in a $400,000 Lamborghini and whisking a young woman away from her angry father. She later turns out to be the daughter of one of the head’s of an Asian Triad, who shows up with his gang, the video ends with a stand off in an alley.
In his interview with BoomBox, the 23-year-old explains his decision on drawing heaving on MJ in the new LP, “the old school inspiration that I had growing up,” he explained about the sonic approach. “Sam Cooke, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder.... This album, honestly, I tried to stay away from anything I was listening to on the radio and I tried not to follow anybody's footsteps.”
