Like hardcore hip hop with some old school mixed in? Like Army of the Pharaohs, Jedi Mind Tricks, Wu-tang Clan, and other rap collaborations like them? Well then you no doubt have already heard of Czarface, the new combination of Inspectah Deck, 7L & Esoteric. If you have not heard or you are new to the genre, their album was released on the 19th February. Also note that this album is not for the light of heart; it's for the hardcore old school hip hop fans.
For those of you who don't know, Inspectah Deck is an MC whose work has spanned over the past two decades. He is most notably known for working with Wu-Tang Clan and his thoughtful lines in 'C.R.E.A.M', a Wu-Tang classic. 7L & Esoteric on the other hand are popular in their own right as well. Before they formed Czarface, 7L & Esoteric had their own group with Esoteric also being part of the hip hop supergroup Army of the Pharaohs. The album itself features many famous faces entering the fray such as Ghostface Killah, Roc Marciano, Cappadonna, and Vinnie Paz.
Czarface's most notable tracks are 'Savagely Attack (feat. Ghostface Killah)' and 'Cement 3's (feat. Roc Marciano).' Each of these songs delivers thoughtful lines with steady intense lines following a cypher like format. As soon as one artist finishes his verse, another jumps in right after keeping the tracks on fire.
Czarface in itself is a vibrant album that keeps it fresh and fights to keep it real. "Czarface is a vigilante, anti-hero character who serves as the face of the project, and his focus is on annihilating the media darlings that the mainstream caters to," - Vinnie Paz.
