Let The Battle Commence

The midweek chart this week shows Justin Timberlake heading for his first UK number 1 since “Sexy Back” in 2006. He rocketed up the charts from 28-4 after his performance at the Brits last week, and he is now in pole position with his latest single “Mirrors”.

However, Bastille are not far behind the US singer with their new track “Pompeii” which is only 2000 copies behind JT’s. “Pompeii” is taken off the London bands forthcoming album “Bad Blood”.

If Timberlake manages to keep hold of the top spot until Sunday, it will be only his second UK number as a lead artist. Although he has been a featured artist on number ones with Timbaland’s “Give It To Me” and Madonna’s “4 Minutes”. The track “Mirrors” is the second single to be released from JT’s forthcoming third album “The 20/20 Experience”, which is due to be released next month.
