R.I.P Nate Dogg
RnB/Hip Hop | Thursday 17th March 2011 | Osh
On the evening of the 15th March 2011 the Hip Hop community lost a member of it’s family; at the young age of 41 Nate Dogg passed away due to several years of ill health. In 2007 and 2008 he suffered from two strokes causing him to become ill.
Nate Dogg’s career began with Snoop Dogg and Warren G when they formed a rap trio called 213 in 1991, they recorded their first demo in the back of the famous V.I.P record store in Long Beach, California; Dr Dre heard the demo at a house party and was drawn into it by the soulful voice of Nate. He went onto make his debut on The Chronic singing in his own style which was to become a trademark for him; listeners loved him and he went on to sign with Death Row Records in 1993. Nate Dogg really rose to fame in 1993 with his first hit single Regulate with Warren G; he has worked with so many artists over the years including Ludacris, Eminem, Dr Dre and 50 Cent and has collaborated on over 40 songs which have been in the charts.
His life long friend Snoop Dogg was first to pay tribute to him on Twitter “I miss u cuzz I am so sad but so happy I got to grow up wit u and I will c u again n heaven cuz u know d slogan... all doggs go to heaven yo homie n baby brotha bigg snoopdogg!!” The tributes started pouring in, 50 Cent wrote “GOD BLESS HIM R.I.P he meant a lot to west coast hiphop. I’ve always been a fan of it.” Rapper Ludacris said “There is a certain void in hip hop’s heart that can never be filled. Glad we got to make history together.”
It’s obvious by the amount of tributes and news articles all over the Internet that Nate Dogg was loved and will be missed; he has left a massive mark on the Hip Hop world and the void he has left us in will never be re filled.
