Too soon Google..too soon..

Anyone who has caught up with the latest events might have heard a little something about a meteor hitting Russia, its impact causing more than 500 injuries. Well, thankfully the creative team at Google heard the news in time as well. In celebration of Asteroid 2012 DA14 passing the earth, Google created one of their traditional doodles that showed an asteroid heading for the logo and then one of the letters casually jumping out of the way. After a giant meteor struck Russia, this simple and quite innocent doodle didn’t seem quite so innocent anymore. Google had to do something about it and removed it right on the spot after the incident happened. Of course an explanation was required and Google discussed the incident thoroughly with ABC-news. ‘Out of respect for those injured in the extraordinary meteor shower in Russia earlier today, we have removed today’s doodle from the Google homepage’.  Well, similar to all those asteroids in the sky, the Google doodle was only seen by a few and passed our vision in less than seconds. Talk about bad timing!
