Not only does Florence Welch make hitting high notes seem effortless, but she also makes belting it out in style look easy.
Florence and the Machine’s second album Ceremonials is a platinum UK seller and the single ‘Shake It Out’ earned the group this year’s Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group. Now the lead vocalist is harnessing the popularity of the album and all its symbolic references to create a jewellery line, Flotique.
The brand maintains a touch of exclusivity from its small assortment of only seven pieces, ranging from £20 - £50. Welch’s collection includes mix and match necklaces and earrings and a ‘cage ring’ inspired by her birdcage tattoo. Unlike with most musician-turned-designer-projects, this line actually looks like something that Welch helped design. Flotique has a glamourous, vintage inspired warm glow about it, reflective of Florence’s own aesthetic in the group’s video for ‘What The Water Gave Me’.
But the line does not reveal much of Welch’s darker gothic style. So fans of Florence’s more ‘Black Swan’ type fashion choices may be left disappointed from Flotique.
