Chris Moyles bringing unoriginality back to music

Monday 22nd October 2012 | David

The long-serving DJ is unfortunately set to rear his ugly balding head again in the world of music with his sophomore album.

The record, called The Difficult Second Album, has already rocketed up the pre-order charts. This must be based on the name alone which, if his last offering was anything to go by, will be by far and away the funniest thing about the record. This one contains such wonderfully named tracks as ‘An Album By Chris Moyles’, ‘Track 5 (And A Bit)’ and the clearly hilarious ‘Potty Training’. Oh joy.

The former Radio 1 presenter has already darkened the airwaves with The Parody Album, which somehow managed to sell over 150,000 copies – presumably bought mainly by Moyles’ PR team and family. It gave us such gems as ‘Lorry Driver’, a spin-off of Britney Spears’ ‘Womaniser’ that was mildly amusing for approximately three seconds. That is still three seconds longer than ‘I Predict a Diet’ was funny for – the parody of the Kaiser Chiefs’ major hit, which I apologise for posting below, really showcases Moyles’ lyrical genius: “For fries I’ve become a goat herder”. Yeah. It doesn’t make sense to me either.

You never know, this effort might just be better than the last one, if only for the numerous guest appearances on it. Ed Sheeran, Rizzle Kicks and Pixie Lott all feature, along with both Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams. Weird Al Yankovic has also taken part, so at least there’s one genuine musical comedian on the album.

The album is set to drop on 5th November. We can only speculate as to how many copies will end up on bonfires.
