New Online Retailer The Label Line, set to launch next month

The Label Line is one of the latest online retailers to grace the Internet (and our lives).  Founded by Simi Fapohunda, what makes The Label Line innovative and unique, is that it aims to bring you luxury products from emerging designers - the hottest new talent that the fashion world has to offer.  For those of you who want to stay ahead of all of the fashion-‘sheep’, The Label Line is the perfect place to find quality wardrobe-essentials that you won’t find anywhere else, and that will be guaranteed to make all your friends jealous.  From the 12th of November, you’ll be able to browse all of the design talent that The Label Line has to offer in its Menswear and Womenswear sections, and get your hands on some timeless pieces.  In addition, The Label Line’s online blog and magazine will certainly be a go-to for fashion exclusives.  We caught up with the founder of The Label Line, and asked her to give us further insight into the company. 

How did you come up with the idea of The Label Line?

The idea for The Label Line first came to me whilst I was studying for my degree.   I was modelling part-time, and as a result I quickly became aware of how much and which latent design talent there was in the fashion industry.  I have always been in love with fashion and in another life, I would have probably been a designer myself; I definitely feel that there is a strong affinity between myself and every fashion designer that I come into contact with.  It was only after graduating that the idea of The Label Line really started to develop; I put the proposal of The Label Line to my family and friends, and as a result, we are now a dedicated team committed to making The Label Line a reality and a success. 

What is The Label Line’s Philosophy?

'Be bold enough to make a mark, controversial enough to create a hype and brave enough to make a statement'.  For me this is not just a philosophy, but also the mission statement of the brand because we intend to make waves in the fashion industry. There is so much design talent out there and collectively, I truly believe that we can break new ground in an industry that is notoriously difficult to penetrate.

Can you tell us more about the other aspects of The Label Line?

Sure.  The site will feature The Label Line blog, updated daily by a team of contributors who are globally placed.  There’ll also be something called The Label Uncovered which will be a collection of in-depth interviews with the designers we work with.  Finally, there’s The Label Line Magazine - a lifestyle magazine filled with fashion editorials, beauty, sports, interviews and more.
