“He’s stuck in the box again? He needs to stop going in there in the first place.”
Located in Hammersmith, Off Cut Festival aims to expose brand new theatre talent in London with new writers, directors and actors all banding together to bring audiences innovative short plays never seen before. The festival chooses 28 top original plays, 28 top directors and actors required for each and the participants will present their work throughout September and October.
The best part is, the audience gets to vote. So if you head along to one of the screenings you can be part of the decision as to which plays make the final shortlist. Then you get to see them again!
One that sticks out in my mind is the absurdist short play ‘The Death of a Mime’ with the intriguing tagline written above. It is written by an award-winning writer, Keiran Lynn, he is one to watch and directed by Anna Bates, a promising young name in dramatic theatre. So head to the Riverside Studios website in order to pre-book your tickets and get involved with a wonderful festival supporting London’s up and coming artists.
