No Doubt return after over a decade

Other | Monday 17th September 2012 | Osh

Eleven years after the release of their last studio album Rock Steady, No Doubt have finally returned with their latest single, Settle Down.

After announcing she would no longer be following a solo career last year, front woman Gwen Stefani has reunited with the rest of the band, who have been on an extended hiatus for over a decade, to release their sixth studio album Push and Shove, to be released later this month.

Despite admitting to MTV that the album is “basically a series of accidents and mistakes”, Stefani and co have an impressive list of collaborators for the album, working with the likes of Major Lazer and reggae artist Busy Signal.

Infused with the unmistakable No Doubt sound, Settle Down is a return to form for the American ska band, mixing Caribbean and Latin beats with American pop-rock.

The single’s release has been long-awaited, as it was first heard state side back in July, long before it found its way across the pond.

Stefani has settled back into the rhythm of No Doubt quickly, moving away from the sounds of her two solo albums, Love. Angel. Music. Baby in 2004, and The Sweet Escape in 2006. Despite the success of these two efforts, the welcome return of the band responsible for some of the biggest tunes of the 90s is sure to be met with enthusiasm.

Settle Down is available now, with album Push and Shove set for release on September 24.
