Two Major Events fight for Media Coverage, Each with Amazingly Memorable Moments

America was a buzz last night as two very important events took place and they’re causing a splash amongst publications all over the world. One was the Democratic National Convention where there were moving speeches performed advocating the current President for re-election. Most notably was Eva Longoria with her plea for votes, focusing on education and taxes. She received a standing ovation when she announced that, "The Eva Longoria who worked at Wendy's flipping burgers, she needed a tax break. But the Eva Longoria who works on movie sets does not."

But in true Hollywood fashion, the VMA’s went on with excitement on the red carpet and amazing performances by Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Green Day. One Direction was the new act on the scene picking up two awards for ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ and the one for ‘Best New Artist’. Our mates Calvin Harris and Skrillex nabbed a couple of awards and unsurprisingly, ‘Video of the Year’ went to Rihanna ft Calvin Harris ‘We Found Love’.

Congratulations to all Artists who were nominated and performed, it was an amazing night, as always. Check out the full list of winners and Rihanna’s performance below.
