Original Sugababes Confirm Reunion

Other | Friday 20th July 2012 | Osh

The original trio of the Sugbabes have confirmed their reunion after months of speculation.

Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy will make their comeback under the name MKS for short.

Buena confirmed the announcement via Twitter by tweeting “@siobhandonaghy @keisha_buchanan I think we should tell the world. WE’RE BACK!!!! @MKSofficial.”

It’s news that many fans wanted to hear and it’s finally come true. When they first formed as a group, they had massive hits with “Push the Button”, “About You Now”, “Round Round” and “Freak Like Me”.

Siobhan told Popjustice “The first time we sang in a room together and worked out our harmonies and sang them together was recording a song called “Too In Love”.

Buchanan said: "It was the first time we'd sang together since we were 16 years old. To be honest with you it wasn't an instant thing. When we were younger we gelled straight away, but we had to learn to blend with each other again.

"It was so special to be excited about hearing our voices together, and being excited about our music. On my days off I'd go home and I'd listen to the tracks. I'd be like, 'I'm really enjoying this'. I just enjoyed our music."

The pop group said they’re going to release some new material in the near future.

This is a real treat for fans, as the three babes are reunited once again. If they can reproduce some music that sounds anything like their old material, they’ll be a huge success, just as they were the first time they hit on our screens.
