Blink Presents: Glass Table with Cats and Dogs, Kyle Hall and Jimmy Edgar and 2nd Drop Records

House | Monday 2nd July 2012 | Osh

Blink are a London based collective dedicated to showcasing forward thinking electronic music in the best clubs South London has to offer.  Last Friday was no exception as they welcomed Wild Oat’s Kyle Hall to Hidden in Vauxhall alongside Jimmy Edgar and Ste Roberts.

Having passed through the extensive airport style security (they even take your photo) I entered Hidden for the first time. The space has the feeling of an underground tunnel not too dissimilar to Crucifix lane with 3 rooms and an upstairs seating area. The vibe was pretty chilled and I wandered between Pedestrian’s bass heavy set and Ste Roberts smooth fusion of house and techno.

By the time Kyle Hall took to the decks the crowd was getting sweaty, having previously seen him play in Glasgow where he absolutely destroyed Deadly Rhythm’s night at Chambre 69 I had high expectations. Naturally, he didn’t disappoint. His Detroit techno signature sound reverberated off all 4 walls and really made the crowd stand up and listen. Hotflush’s Jimmy Edgar took over around 4am, having recently celebrated the release of his new album Majenta his set featured a mix of house, techno and electro which kept the crowd moving until the clock tolled 5.

That was unfortunately the last of the ‘Found’ series, however this weekend sees an all together different vibe as the Drumcast crew descends on Hidden, this is definitely one for the DnB heads.
