Peter Serafinowicz: Because one personality isn’t enough
Monday 2nd July 2012 | Osh
A wise man once said that some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them. Some, however, don’t really fit into any of these categories, and have to make do with being very funny instead.
Peter Serafinowicz, acclaimed comic, writer and amateur dietician, is one such man. He can credit award-winning comedies Spaced, Look Around You and I’m Alan Partridge to a burgeoning CV of diverse, and some would say abstract, roles.
Serafinowicz is a man who seems most at ease when providing pin-point accurate parodies; Kevin Spacey and Simon Cowell are two of his best. The latter is portrayed to perfection in a guest-star role on YouTube video The Stone Roses – The Second Second Coming.
His ability to purvey assorted miscellaneous characters gives the impression of a schizophrenic whose every personality just happens to contain an inherent level of farcical genius. His unique talents are ripe for analogy, and the following is widely regarded as an accurate summation:
Serafinowicz is a man who thinks so far outside of the box, he is as yet unaware of the existence of cardboard.
Notable awards include a 2006 Golden Rose for Best Entertainer and being named Google’s Most Spellchecked Surname three years in a row, an accolade which he fondly refers to as ‘recurring’.
Aside from his comedy, he has also tried his hand at assisting the overweight by providing a scientifically formulated and 100% guaranteed diet plan. If you’re serious about shedding a few extra pounds but don’t want to spend money on a gym or conform to time-consuming lifestyle changes, look no further than the video below.
There is no doubt about it, Serafinowicz is a big name: some say via merit, others through an excessive use of consonants. The man is an enigma and his next step will surely be something utterly original and, hopefully, allow him to reach the levels of stardom which he so deserves.
The rest, as they say, happened after that.
