UK based Rockstar games bring us the fifth chapter (and 15th instalment) of one of the most popular, innovative and controversial games series of all time.
Set in the fictional Los Santos based on modern-day Los Angeles and Southern California, the formula is expected to be similar to its predecessors with gamers working their way through a series of missions ranging from insane shoot outs and mental car chases, to the downright weird accompanied by a suitably quirky, bloodbath of a story which never fails to provide entertainment. The ability to free roam and do pretty much whatever the hell you like is another of the defining features of the game and has inspired an entire generation of games which have attempted to do the same.
There’s a hell of a lot of hype around the game which has yet to be given an official release date. And naturally this hype comes with a lot of unconfirmed rumours, the biggest of which is that Ned Luke will be playing the voice of the lead character.
If the trailer is anything to go by, players will be able to fly aircraft as well as driving (a usually hijacked) car and explore the surrounding countryside. The game will also feature an online multiplayer mode of which details are unclear but it has been speculated there’ll be an array of mini games possibly involving the jet skis and golfing seen in the trailer.
