Festival Beauty Guide

Looking good at a festival can seem impossible. Booze, mud, sweat and a lack of showering/ hygiene in general doesn’t exactly make a recipe for glamour. However, with a few tips and the right products, I promise you, you will be able to master the festival look with minimum effort. After all festivals are for fun, not for worrying about your appearance!
The Basics
Small mirror- It is surprising how many people forget these and without it, the rest of the list is pointless. You can’t really check your appearance in a muddy puddle.
Dry shampoo- ALWAYS. This is my staple. It is unlikely that you will have the time/ courage to brave the festival showers, especially after the first day, so to combat the state your hair will be in after all that raving, just spray a bit on and voila- FRESH CLEAN(ish) HAIR.
Hat- It is easy to forget but sun protection is important. It can also double as a style statement/a saviour when your hair has got to the point where it cannot be salvaged.
Cordless gas powered straighteners/curlers- Personally I can’t be bothered with this but the option is there!
Waterproof sunscreen- Lobster is not a good look.
Sunglasses- Sensible and make you look like a rock star=win win.
Baby Wipes- For general cleaning and when you have to take your makeup off in a dark tent.
Wellies- Don’t even try and wear another type of footwear, wellies are always the best option, I have two ruined pairs of biker boots that can vouch for this. So many colours and styles are available these days and they are a must to be part of the festival community.
The rain mac/poncho- Be prepared! Saves from ruining your appearance the moment you step outside.
General toiletries- No matter how good you look, no one is going to want to be your friend if you haven’t brushed your teeth in 4 days. Always have a water bottle handy for this!
Makeup
It is best to keep this to a minimum, bearing in mind most of it will come off throughout the day due to unpredictable weather conditions/ the results of all day dancing. However I know I feel better with something on.Take:
Waterproof mascara and eyeliner
Powder/light foundation
Bronzer
Concealer and eye drops- for those hangover/tired eyes
Vaseline- To prevent the standard post- festival chapped lips
False Lashes- I would give eyeshadow a miss as it ends up giving you the appearance of a panda but if you want your eyes to stand out, I would recommend using false lashes. As at festivals you can get away with anything, why not try some crazy colours and designs.
Glow face paint- Why? Because it is cool and actually helped me locate a lost friend in a crowd once.
So there you have it. You can now be carefree, have an amazing time and look good!
