Loadstar Release Two Tracks on Ram – Absolutely Free!
Thursday 14th June 2012 | Osh
The duo best known for the bass laced ‘Link to the Past’ have decided to reward fans with two tracks, free of charge. And guess what? They’re not free because they’re lacking in awesomeness, both tracks are welcome editions to anyone who enjoys the more upbeat jump up side of drum & bass. Both tracks have clearly been heavily influenced by dubstep and some might even classify them as drumstep. ‘Terror Drone’ laces a fat, bouncy bass line with that “ya ya” bass sound for which producers like Excision and Datsik are so well known. Warning, this track may cause shortness of breath and uncontrollable urge to bang your head. Skrillex was definitely the inspiration for ‘Second Skin’. The tracks intro builds up tension with heartfelt vocals, some euphoric synths and pads and crescendoing drums and then drops like an atom bomb into a verse which assaults you with screeching sirens, and an array of explosive noises. The result is something that will have you bouncing off the walls like an absolute lunatic (if that’s your thing).
The whole Skrillex thing stirs heated debates within the dubstep community, he's a bit like Marmite, you either love him or hate him. Personally......well let's just say I don't like Marmite, however many people do like Marmite; it's just a matter of taste. While the tracks are nothing new or groundbreaking in terms of style or production, as they heavily draw upon other artists sounds, they’re both likely to get a crowd moving. You can download them both here.
