Love Saves The Day, Castle Park, Bristol. Sunday 3rd June 2012.
Whilst most of the country were heavily anticipating the Diamond Jubilee over the Bank Holiday Weekend, Bristol was laying down an impressive new festival showcasing the biggest and hottest new names in house music. Set in the impressive Castle Park surrounding old castle ruins, creating the perfect atmosphere for house heads to get down to the likes of Disclosure, Jamie Jones, Maya Jane Coles and many others. Although House was the main vibe of the one-day festival, DJ Derek, Roots Manuva, Annie Mac and a select few others were there to mix it up and got the crowd going crazy. The continual rain came nowhere close to dampening any spirits, as the intimate crowd partied through the afternoon, with up and coming Jessie Ware and Disclosure smashing their sets. Whilst the main festival finished up at eleven, several of the best nightclubs around Bristol threw after-parties with many of the artists that had played throughout the day creating a festival feel til the early hours. Love Saves The Day had a lot to live up to in the prestigious Bristol Music Scene that has given birth to many of the UK’s best artists, producers and DJ’s but it certainly seemed to showcase a variety of the best up and coming British DJ’s and artists in impressive settings. A definite must go to in 2013.
