Justin Timberlake Tries His Hand At Film Composition

RnB/Hip Hop | Friday 25th May 2012 | Osh

Although ex-N-Sync singer Justin Timberlake has dabbled in the film industry quite a lot of late, he is going back to his musical routes. He will be composing a film score!

There’s no news of a new album as yet, and the 31-year-old has not released any material since 2006’s ‘Futuresex/Lovesounds’.  Instead, the Tennessee-born multi-tasker will compose the score for ‘The Devil in the Deep Blue Sea’, which is set to start filming in the Autumn.

Timberlake has always written his own music, along with some co-writers, but composing a film score is a whole new ball game. The film is said to have a dramatic plot set in New-Orleans and will star Justin’s actress fiancé Jessica Biel, as well as Chloe Mortez and Jeffery Dean Morgan.

Many will agree that Justin Timberlake is a talented actor, singer, songwriter and performer, but there is speculation as to whether he can actually pull off writing an entire film score singlehandedly. He has been given the job as musical supervisor for the flick, and is following in the footsteps of the likes of Sir Paul McCartney and Neil Young who have both also dabbled with writing music for the silver screen.

This project will combine Justin Timberlake’s two loves and maybe even inspire him to head back to the studio to record some new solo material very soon.
