The Hives Howlin' Return

Quirky Swedes Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist and The Hives are set to release their fifth full length album Lex Hives internationally on June 4th... something to get excited about. The Hives are one of those groups that just seem to emanate joy. Never taking themselves or anything else too seriously they make the kind of music you can’t really listen to without having a bit of a strut. The first single from the release Go Right Ahead dropped early April and features a riff that’s a bit of a throwback to ELO’s Don’t Bring Me Down (don’t get moody, they got the go ahead from ELO themselves). If Go Right Ahead is anything to gauge the rest of the album by then Lex Hives is going to be typical Hives, shouty, strong, get-up-and-strut rock n’ roll - which is never a bad thing.
