Festivals Abroad: The Perfect Getaway

Like holidays? Like festivals? Why not mix the two by going to a festival abroad this summer? There are plenty to choose from, and Guestlist Network have put together some we know you'll love.
A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise - Netherlands
This immensley popular festival is the Netherlands' answer to Reading & Leeds, boasting some of the biggest names in music. Possibly the most fun thing about this event is that it's adjacent to the Walibi Holland amusement park. This year sees the likes of Foo Fighters, Enter Shikari, Ben Howard and Refused rearing their resputable heads for Lowlands 2012 for what's sure to be another hit.
Roskilde Festival - Denmark
When it comes to the line- up, no festival on Earth matches it. Beastie Boys, Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Who, Tiesto, Arctic Monkeys and Basement Jaxx have all played there - and that was all during one festival, in 2007! The beautiful surroundings and trademark orange main stage are all what makes Roskilde unique, and another attraction is that it isn't too far from Copenhagen - so if you fancy a change from the festival, one of the best cities in Europe is close by.
La Route Du Rock - France
This Brittany-based festival may be small, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in sheer character. You're sure to bump into the same groups of people a few times during your stay around the campsite and the arena (a great way to make friends!), and the great selection of food is also a bonus. There are also fantastic deals available with Brittany Ferries, who offer a package of festival and travel at £149 - a great deal for a three-day festival, we think you'll agree! A free bus service also operates from the site, meaning you can hit the beaches at Brittany any time you like.
Rock AM Ring - Germany
Fancy something a bit heavier? You need look no further than Rock AM Ring; 2012's line- up features Linkin Park, Metallica, and Marilyn Manson to satisfy your headbanging needs, while hanging around with fellow heavy rock fans will allow you to let loose. Raise those horns!
Soundwave - Croatia
Located in the oft-overlooked beautiful country of Croatia - and right by the sea! - Soundwave is a place for going crazy with your friends, and having the best possible time of your life. The appearances of such class artists such as Roots Manuva, Bonobo, and Little Dragon have helped bolster the festival's ever-growing reputation as the place to be during the hot month of July. A beautiful beach, fantastic acts - great times are pretty much guaranteed at Soundwave.
