The last seven years has seen dance music explode more then ever into the mainstream field of music. With this growth, more and more sub genres are blowing up all over the place. Moombahton is one of those genres making some serious noise across the pond. With a niche sound that finds its roots in the leading genres of dance music today, it’s only a matter of time before it takes over the globe. So what exactly does it sound like? Imagine throwing hip- hop, electro- house and dubstep into a blender, then feeding that smoothie to a robot that was raised on Reggaeton, and letting it open fire on the L.A. club scene. Moombahton is more or less the sound this massacre would create. Notable artists pushing this scene include Diplo (most known for his work with Major Lazer & his label Mad Decent), Dillon Francis and of course Munchi one of the strongest forces in this genre. This is one style that you can’t miss out on; get on it while it’s still underground.
