Lionel Richie Encourages Female Fans

Lionel hopes his female fans ‘never stop’ throwing underwear at him on stage.
The 62 year old singer has had a hugely successful career in music, first with The Commodores and then went solo where he has had many achievements. Although he is getting older his fans are still as passionate and committed to supporting him, and he said he hopes it remains that way.
‘There’s a thing called respect and then there’s a thing called too much respect. When they stop throwing underwear, it’s too much respect.’
He claims the secret to his longevity in the business is his ability to write a solid love song. He believes the romantic lyrics are the ones most people want to hear, and thinks no matter what the genre, emotions will always feature in songs and that’s what connects.
‘Love never goes out of stlye.. I don’t care if you’re a gangster rapper, sooner of later you’re gonna get to, ‘I love you.’
