The Next Big Thing? Mantyhose

Mantyhose. Yes, that’s right, Mantyhose. They’re pantyhose for men!
As odd as a pair of these might seem, they do seem to be a hit with the men... and Madonna. In her latest and most raunchy video to date, Girl Gone Wild, we see the guys Vogueing in these ‘hose along with her. This new, hot fashion accessory can also be referred to as guylons or brosiery but, Mantyhose haven’t only received praise from Madonna. Male supermodel Tyson Beckford also seems to have given his seal of approval as he was spotted wearing a pair!!
These ‘tights’ as you and I might be tempted to call them are the latest creation from Italian designer Emilio Cavallini, “The category really grew organically... when we launched our e- commerce site, we began to notice that tights in size Medium- Large were quite often being purchased by men”. The launch of these ‘hose four days ago saw men wearing them underneath their rolled- up jeans or shorts. And whilst some men might use them to keep warm in the winter, others might use them to lounge about the house in and some might use them to make a (fashion) statement. But with patterns such as stars, stripes and skulls proving popular in countries like Canada, France, Germany, Scandinavia and the US, perhaps sites like e-mancipate.net/ will become as popular with men in the UK in the near future.
