Dame Vivienne Westwood believes those in their 70s are the most trendy in Britain, despite most people of pensionable age feeling ignored by the fashion world.
She thinks older people have a much better individual style and as for the rest of us? ‘never had looked so ugly.’ She said that the younger generation are all looking the same thanks to ‘disposable fashion.’
The icon said everyone looks like clones and the people she notices are usually her age or older, because everyone else blends in and are so ‘conformist.’
Speaking at London Fashion Week, she went on to say that everyone consumes too much without thinking. She believes that modern day is the worst period for style yet.
Queen Elizabeth on the other hand was ‘so attractive in what she was wearing and came from another planet.’
Ms Westwood criticises people for buying quantity over quality, however judging by the never ending queues in Primark we’re not sure how many people agree with her!
