Boxer's Embarrassing Brawl With Bottles
Sunday 19th February 2012 | Osh
David Haye and Dereck Chisora disgrace British Boxing after facing off outside the ring.
Last night an embarrassingly violent altercation occurred between David Haye and Dereck Chisora at the post-fight news conference in Munich after Chisora was defeated by Vitali Klitschko. It began with Haye and Bernd Boente, manager of Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko, having a verbal dispute about an offer made about a fight to which Bernd stated “With the bad experience we've had with British fighters, we will now look for other countries” and to David directly “Chisora showed heart, contrary to you. You showed your toe”. Chisora steps in calling David “an embarrassment” as well as labelling him the cause for Sky Sports not doing Box Office any more and goes on to say “If Haye is a fighter he should fight me”. Then Frank Warren, Dereck’s promoter, proposes that they should both fight and the winner should fight Vitali to which his manger replies “Sounds like the perfect plan”. Chisora repetitively shouts at David “How’s your toe?” to which he replies “You’re a loser” after which Chisora moves to confront Haye which escalated into a brawl which both Chisora and Haye’s manager left bloodied. Chisora went on making threats such as he was going to find Haye and burn him after he was convinced he’d been ‘glassed’ by him. Chisora was arrested around 10:30am (German time) the next morning at the airport whereas Haye is yet to have been found.
