Shortee Blitz hosts Deadbeat Society @ Cargo

Monday 6th February 2012 | Osh
The legendary Shortee Blitz who most of you will recognise from Kiss fm will be hosting The Dead Beat Society, the nation’s premier head- to- head music production battle. The launch will be on 29.03.12 at Cargo featuring Buggsy, East London.
This is a great opportunity for fresh talent to showcase their skills or just for fans to witness the fun.
If you aren’t familiar with the dynamics of a music battle it involves 2 producers sharing a stage, each at their own station using a CDJ and a mixer to play their original “tune.” There are no gimmicks or celebrity judges here- the contestants are just after the approval of the crowd.
Deadbeat, which describe themselves as the ‘Christianity of Beat Production, is inspired by Jamaican sounds clashes where the audience decides who goes home and who has the best beats.
The producers will play 3 beats one after the other for 1 minute each and the winner from each qualifying battle will win £500, a DBS plaque and a place in the grand final. However the best prize up for grabs is the opportunity to produce and work with an A- list recording artist!
