Singer Matt Johnson and drummer Kim Schifino met in college and have been making catchy infectious indie mixed with bubble gum pop crossed over with old school hip hop since 2005, their debut album Matt & Kim was released in 2006. Their second and third albums, Grand and Sidewalks catapulted the fun loving duo into the mainstream with songs being used in Barcadi commercials, NBC’s Community and Chuck, HBO’s Entourage and Channel 4’s Skins, so if you think you haven’t heard them before, you probably have. Not only creative in their musical approach, their videos have made a name for themselves. The video for ‘Lesson Learned’, where they stripped naked and ran through New York City’s Time Square, won them an MTV Video Music Award for Best Breakthrough Video.
