The American version of Lovefilm is set to hit the UK on a smartphone near YOU!
The new American subscription company Netflix is the latest in online platforms that provides movies straight to your home. With a choice of thousands of films and shows, Netflix enables customer’s unlimited usage for £5 a month. Netflix understands its target audiences, gone are the times when walking to the rental store was a plausible option. Movies and shows are streamed through your broadband connection and straight to your home, be it your laptop or your iPad, smart TV or Smartphone, Playstation or Xbox.
The number of illegal online streaming websites diminishing the emergence of more and more legitimate subscription based companies is of no surprise. With 25 million users in the States, Netflix hopes to corner the British Market by undercutting Lovefilms price of £9.99 by half. The likes of 4OD, www.projectrfreetv.com, and BBC iPlayer do provide these services for free, however their limited range will provide incentives for customers to subscribe to what will no doubt become a household brand in the not so distance future.
