Berres Hammond & Tarrus Riley @ IndigO2, 05/10/2011

Wednesday 26th October 2011 | Osh

Two reggae icons give the masses a performance to remember.

The highly anticipated reggae show of the year saw a host of people of all ages enjoying the fantastic atmosphere. The opening acts got the night off to a superb start and even a comedy act was amid the performances which was a much added bonus. Tarrus Riley was fantastic and full of energy with his live band and his saxophonist Dean Fraser was beyond amazing. Riley performed a good mix of tunes but my favourites by far were ‘She’s Royal,’ ‘Superman’, and ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’. It was breathtaking to hear his voice as silky smooth live as it does on his records.
Beres Hammond is an icon and he proved it on the night, he had great command of the stage and his interaction with the crowd made it more enjoyable. His set was outstanding, performing hits ‘Tempted To Touch,’ ‘Rock Away,’ ‘Putting Up A Resistance’ and loads more. Hammond’s voice is soothing to the ears, no ifs or buts about it. This show was worth every penny with this remarkably impressive double act - all I wish is they return soon!
