How long have you been the owners of Battersea Bar?
We have been the new owners since the 3rd August 2009.

What made you invest in the Battersea Bar?
My husband Carlos and I Sandra used to attend the Battersea Bar ourselves, it was one of the few black places that we could go to. We used to attend the club nights or just come to have a drink out especially when we first moved to London. I was born in Jamaica, grew up in Sheffield and then moved to London.

How have you found running the Bar in Battersea?
It can be challenging at times especially at the time that we took over as it was more or less in the middle of the recession. We’ve refurbished the bar and made more stylish, brighter and definitely more up market. We’re looking forward to summer….

What events have you on offer at the Battersea Bar?
Monday nights we have Pool competitions, we have 2 excellent pool teams at the moment. They train and practice during the week but compete against each other for trophies every Monday nights. Anyone wanting to come down to compete, if you have your own team or just want come and play some pool please do contact us. There are trophies up for the winning teams.
Every other Sunday night is our new Jazz nights, that starts from 5pm til 8pm with a live jazz band and a Sunday roasts. Its English Sunday roast with a twist of Jamaican zing to it. After the jazz finishes we have Smokey Joe with the jazz funk and disco classic’s to round off the night. Sunday Roast - PLUS - Live Jazz (5-8pm)
feat. Michael “Bami” Rose, Ardian Reid, Ross Anderson, Ken Rowe and guests
e.g. to name a few -Eddie ‘Tan Tan’ Thornton, Larry Bartley, Toni Kofi, Dave Angol. The smoothest and most seductive jazz played by world renowned, award winning entertainers.
On Wednesday’s we have local dj’s dj Roadrunner with Don Wright, he tends to draw a lot of the locals out but everybody is welcomed of course.
On Thursday nights you will get a blend of old skool hip hop fused with old skool garage/house this night is growing on a weekly basis and is well worth checking out if you like this genre. The night is called older than you think and the dj’s on the night are Willow Treez and DJ Figr.

Friday nights is now our soca night, so soca massive if you never knew where the soca party was before you surely know now. You can join Smokey Joe and the crew as they wuk up a storm every Friday.
We are available to hire on some Saturday night’s, if you are having a party why not have it right here with in-house catering and a selection of great djs for all occasions give us a call to arrange. Please look out for a once a month Saturday night called reggae nights where Fulham’s finest sound system Boot Hi Fi carry’s their wonderful crowd down and throw down some great beats and even though the night is called reggae night the music is very mixed. The crowd is always well dressed, mature and everybody come down to party hard not watch each other.
With carnival just around the corner maybe some of the guestlist network readers would love to dress up and dance in the carnival precession then why not link up with the Arawak carnival band where you well be measured up for your out fit which is actually made in Trinidad, learn the routine’s and get ready to hit the road this august. Where the band will leave for carnival from they’re home the battersea bar.
Come down to the bar and join us every bank holiday Monday for a big family funday out with bouncy castle and dj Bionic Rhona to keep the children well entertained also B.B.Q by the landlord Carlos. Children welcome between 2-8pm then Djs Mr. Mighty & Blacker. P from  ww.vibesfm.net arrive to entertain the adults, music policy is any thing to make you move your body.

Do you do cooked meals in the bar?
Yes we do a range of meals which vary week to week but our daily regular dishes are curry goat/chicken, brown stew oxtail/chicken also steam fish made to order and jerk chicken/pork. Can I please make it very clear that we fully understand that a lot of people do not eat pork so as to make every body happy we do not mix our jerk drum pans. We have a few of them and where the chicken is cooked the pork well never go there and visa versa and of course we are fully licensed for food and drink so why not bring the family down any given day or feel free.
